The Ageas Bowl is the home of Hampshire Cricket, Southern Vipers and Southern Brave.

2020 saw the venue host behind-closed-doors England Men's internationals against West Indies, Ireland, Pakistan and Australia as well as Hampshire fixtures in the Vitality Blast and Southern Vipers matches in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

2021 saw the venue welcome New Zealand & India for the inaugural ICC World Test Championship Final, and England Men for a Vitality IT20 against Sri Lanka on Saturday 26th June. Hampshire and Southern Vipers also returned to action in a summer which saw the introduction of The Hundred - where Southern Brave contested at The Ageas Bowl in July and August.

The top order batter has been elected as skipper for the 50-over competition while James Vince is away with Southern Brave for The Hundred

Hampshire Cricket are delighted to announce that top order batter Nick Gubbins has been elected as captain for the Royal London One-Day Cup side this season.

He takes charge of the team while Club captain James Vince is away with Southern Brave for The Hundred which is taking place at the same time as the 50-over campaign.

Gubbins was the team’s leading run scorer in last year’s campaign, scoring 318 runs at an average of 53.00, including a 131* against Sussex Sharks where he also recorded bowling figures of 4-38.

We sat down with the new skipper to discuss his thoughts ahead of the season.
