George John BAILEY

Bailey-Whites-Bat-Leicestershire-AgeasBowl-NJM-1-208"Bails" is a right handed batsman who is also Australia's Twenty20 Captain and one of Hampshire's designated overseas players for the 2013 season.

He made history by becoming the first player in more than a century to be named skipper in his first match for Australia in any format and is available for all competitions for Hampshire.

He's scored more than 5,000 First Class runs for his home state of Tasmania at an average of around 40. He also has previous experience in English conditions having played for the Scottish Saltires in the 40-over competition, scoring 90 against the Royals at The Ageas Bowl in 2010.

In addition, he has also played Big Bash League Cricket for the Melbourne Stars and Indian Premier League Cricket for the Chennai Super Kings.

He made an instant impression upon arriving in the UK, scoring a first innings 93 against Leicestershire in the first LV= County Championship match of the season at The Ageas Bowl.
