Danny Briggs Awarded Hampshire Cap
Apr 12 2012
Hampshire have marked their opening LV= County Championship match of the season in style by awarding spinner, Danny Briggs with his County cap.
Briggs received the cap from Hampshire Cricket Chairman, Rod Bransgrove and First XI Coach, Giles White at the end of the opening session of play.
The award recognises the 20 year-old’s contribution to the club in the last two seasons, during which time he has finished as the Royals’ leading Twenty20 wicket-taker both years and leading First Class wicket-taker last summer.
Briggs was rewarded for two excellent full seasons with the club when he was given his England One Day International debut against Pakistan in the UAE in February.
In doing so, the 20-year old became the youngest ever Hampshire player - and the first from the Isle of Wight - to play for his country.
