Hampshire-Cricket-Board-HCB-Logo-1-208HMRC are currently investigating 3 clubs in the Southern Electric Premier League, in relation to unpaid PAYE and National Insurance.

ECB have circulated advice to clubs via County Cricket Boards regarding how clubs should deal with any enquiry from HMRC.  Geoff Rhodes, HCB Finance Director also outlined the key areas clubs should consider, in a presentation to members at Hampshire Cricket Board AGM on 31st January (link below).

Whilst we do not wish to alarm clubs, you should consider your position carefully and seek the relevant professional advice.

GB Sport Business Essentials for Coaches and Club Administrators Course

If you are interested in finding out more, Sport Hampshire & IOW are running a GB Sport Business Essentials for Coaches and Club Administrators.

The course covers legal status, self-employment, employment, contracts and insurance and is designed for club officials and self-employed coaches.  The course is heavily subsidised at just £15 per head (this is reduced from £35) and should be really useful for any clubs looking to put more robust systems in place.
