Only eight overs of the Hampshire Royals' Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Surrey were able to be bowled as persistant rain at The Kia Oval had the last word.
Before that point the hosts, having been put into bat, had made the most of some short boundaries on one side to make good start their innings, coming off at 76-1; captain Rory Hamilton-Brown (38*) and Jason Roy (3*) at the crease.
The only man to go was Steven Davies (25), superbly caught, right-handed by Liam Dawson at first slip, diving to his right.
Both teams take one point from the match and the Royals continue to sit second in the table going into Monday's match against the Scottish Saltires at The Ageas Bowl.
