“Grff” is a right-arm fast-medium bowler and left-hand lower order batsman from the Isle of Wight.
He played for Hampshire’s junior sides and England Under-19 (2004-2005) before making his county debut in 2006.
He played most frequently in 2009 when he took 4-29 in a limited overs match v Gloucestershire.
He began 2010 recording his best First Class bowling figures to that point of 5-85 v Essex at Chelmsford but suffered injury problems and played in few matches.
And it was, unfortunately, a similar story in 2011, when he went one better than that Essex match, notching up figures of 6-85 against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge only to again miss large parts of the season through injury.
His highlight of the 2012 season was taking the wicket of England International Ian Bell in the Clydesdale Bank 40 Final when he was on 81 - a moment that turned the match back in Hampshire's favour.
When Griff is at his fastest he is undeniably one of the quickest in the Hampshire squad so, with some luck and a decent run of matches under his belt, hopefully Griff will fire again in 2013.
