Adam Jack WHEATER
"Wheats" is a wicketkeeper-batsman who joined Hamsphire from Essex in 2013.
He would have first come to the attention of most Hampshire fans the previous season when he hit 98 off 111 balls (including 12 fours and four sixes) to take his side to within a whisker of victory over the Ageas Bowl side. He also took four first-innings catches behind the stumps in that fixture.
Brought in in order to contribute more runs in the lower-middle order, at the time of signing he had a first-class batting average of nearly 40 and had taken nearly 100 catches in all formats.
He backed that up in his first match for the South Coast side, scoring an unbeaten first-innings 56 against Leicestershire at The Ageas Bowl.
He has previously played for a range of overseas clubs including Zimbabwe’s Matabeleland Tuskers and New Zealand side, Northern Districts.
